Find Your Child’s Training Level

Starting August 3, every junior will have the opportunity to join the Performance Pathway. This program provides juniors with a clear roadmap for improvement and includes weekly practice sessions, personalized feedback, measurable benchmarks, and regular team competitions.

To prepare for this new program, we are launching the July Player Assessment Series. Each week, juniors will come to practice and complete different golf activities. A coach will evaluate their putting, chipping, full-swing mechanics, and strategy. At the end of the month, juniors will be added to a Performance Team: Par, Birdie, or Eagle.

Why We Assess All Developmental Juniors

Most junior golf programs place golfers by age or a single tryout. We take a different approach.

Our assessment process helps us understand:

• Current skill level

• Consistency across different areas of the game

• Learning readiness

• The best training environment for long-term development

This allows every junior to start in a group where they can succeed and improve from day one.

What We Evaluate

Putting

• Distance Control

• Start Line

• Consistency

Chipping

• Distance Control

• Trajectory Control

• Contact Quality

Full Swing

What to Expect at an Evaluation

Sign Up and Attend

Assessment days are offered weekly. Register online and meet us at the designated location.

During their session, juniors will complete a series of golf tasks while coaches record their statistics and evaluate their performance as a whole.

Player Placement

After the assessment, golfers are placed on a performance team: Par, Birdie, or Eagle. This placement is based on their current abilities and readiness.

Begin Training

Juniors start practicing with peers at a similar development level.

Monthly Progress Checks

Each month ends with a Challenge Day. Juniors will have an opportunity to show off their skills. Results will be recorded and shared with juniors and families. If a junior is ready to move up a level, they can do so at this time.

Development Tracks

Par

For beginners and developing golfers.

Birdie

For intermediate golfers building consistency and considering competitive play.

Eagle

For competitive golfers pursuing advanced development.

Even if you already know which development track is right for your child, we still start with an assessment. Not only does it give us valuable insight into what your child already knows, but is also helps us measure their growth for the entire time they’re at KC Junior Golf.

Who Should Complete an Assessment?

An assessment is a great fit if your child:

• Has golf experience and wants a structured program

• Is taking lessons but lacks a clear development plan

• Wants to improve consistently throughout the year

• Is interested in competitive golf

• Has completed Explore and is looking for the next step
